Our Awards and Accreditations

We are extremely proud to have been recognised for our hard work over the years, take a look through our awards and accreditations below.

The Parliamentary Review

The Parliamentary Review is a series of independent publications,  which aims to share best practice among policy makers and business leaders. Each of its editions focuses on a key governmental policy area, with a variety of organisations sharing personal insight alongside cabinet ministers, government agencies, associations and trade bodies. You can read more about our involvement here.

Investors in People

Our Investors in People accreditation is a recognition that we continuously look to improve our team performance and realise objectives through individual management and development to achieve our nursery vision.

The Vale of Glamorgan Quality Standards

Fun Foundations has participated in this accreditation for many years. The Childcare and Early Years Quality and Monitoring Department for The Vale of Glamorgan Council regularly inspect our settings to assess the quality of care that we receive.

The Childcare Offer

Under the Childcare Offer for Wales, working families can claim up to 30 hours of early education and childcare in Wales a week, for up to 48 weeks of the year. It aims to make life a bit easier for parents by offering help with childcare costs.
Fun Foundations is a registered setting that can support families in receiving this funding.

Cardiff and Vale Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award

Being part of the scheme shows a commitment to children’s health and encouraging good eating habits. It shows that a setting is putting recommendations from the Food and Nutrition for Childcare Settings into practice.

Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme

We have been working with this scheme since 2012 and it has proved to be invaluable in improving our practice at nursery in many areas.

The topics that we have covered have included:

• Nutrition and Oral Health
• Physical Activity/Active Play
• Environment
• Mental and Emotional Health and Well Being
• Safety
• Hygiene
• Workplace

This framework and support has enabled us to receive staff training (such as Busy Feet, Design to Smile, Cooking Together) and has provided many ideas and suggestions that we have implemented at nursery that have improved the quality of care and education that we provide.
The scheme has also linked us with other schemes, such as Health Workplace Award, Gold Snack Award and Sun Safe Status.
All of these different schemes that we participate in provide expert advice and a framework that we implement at nursery.

We are continuously re-assessed to ensure that our practice doesn’t change and that we are still encompassing the ethos of the scheme in our everyday practice.
